This Special Ineos Grenadier Is All About Celebrating The Ocean

Ineos has just unveiled a special edition version of its civilized, but savage Grenadier off-roader, aimed at buyers who live a “nautical lifestyle”. The launch follows steadily rising sales for the brand, established in 2016 by billionaire businessman Jim Ratcliffe, which has already created some wildly expensive Grenadier variants. The special Grenadier Helmsman is available for both the Station Wagon and Quartermaster models. As standard, the Helmsman is sold in Eldoret Blue or Scottish White, but customers can option the Whiteout Blue metallic finish shown in these photos. 

The Grenadier’s roof can be finished in either Inky Black or Scottish White. Several other exterior tweaks have been made. These include fitment of the new Dark Exterior Pack with a black grille, dark skid plates, and matte black roof rails. The Helmsman also sports tinted windows and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with locking lug nuts. Found in the off-roader’s cabin are black leather seats with oyster-colored inserts. It also comes standard with the brand’s premium sound system and the Smooth Pack, which includes ambient cabin lighting, front parking sensors, and auxiliary electrical outlets.

“Built to work hard and play even harder, the Grenadier is in its element when recovering a boat or transporting kayaks to the coast. With this in mind, we have combined popular design features from previous limited editions with new oceanic hues to deliver the ideal 4X4 for watersports enthusiasts and seafarers,” Ineos Automotive’s Global Sales Director Sagree Sardien said. Ineos has not shared how many units of the Helmsman it intends to build, other than saying that it will only be built for a limited time. 

UK prices start at £70,995 ($94,000) and the Grenadier Helmsman launch comes a few months after the British brand announced record sales through the first six months of the year. Orders for the Grenadier were up 14.6% year-over-year across the January-to-June period, thanks in part to an especially strong first quarter, when sales jumped 20%. Helping to drive the company’s success has been an increase in orders from corporate clients, the non-profit sector, and military-spec Grenadiers for Italy and Austria.
