Holly Willoughby was visibly moved by a grieving mother’s emotional story of losing her 14-year-old son after what she believes was a social media challenge gone wrong.
The former This Morning star, who hosted the ITV show for 14 years, has previously interviewed many people who shared their heartbreaking stories with her.
However, the third episode of Holly’s new YouTube series, Together, sees the presenter in a different light as she struggles to hold back her emotions during an emotional interview with a grieving mother before finally breaking down on camera.Â
The 45-year-old became visibly emotional while speaking to Ellen Roome, whose 14-year-old son, Jools Sweeney, died in April 2022.
Ellen believes her son’s death was linked to an online challenge and has been campaigning for greater access to children’s online data.
As Ellen recalled Jools’ story, Holly struggled to compose herself, telling her guest:’ ‘It’s just so horrible, it’s just so horrible, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.’
Through out the interview, the presenter was visibly fighting back tears, particularly when Ellen revealed she still watches an old video of Jools so she can hear his voice.
Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby is said to be at logger heads with her former This Morning bosses after launching her YouTube show titled, Together.
The Mail on Sunday has claimed that ITV bosses have gone to war with their former colleague over interviews with two guests who appeared on both programs.
