In the words of Whitney Houston, it’s not right, but it’s okay. Victoria taking her daughter, Claire’s ex-boyfriend, who doubles as her dad’s #1 nemesis’s son, is SO wrong, but Y&R fans NEED it for entertainment value. 👀
FACTS: Victoria & Kyle are Both Hot, but REALLY?
There’s a thin line between arguing and flirting in Genoa City, & these two have been walking it for weeks. They’re both objectively attractive people. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has never had a problem turning heads. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was basically born to command a room. Then put them together inside any of the three restaurants in Genoa City in a heated argument, & the chemistry writes itself.
Yes, there is always chemistry. It’s real. It’s there… & it’s also EWW.
The Claire Problem: Victoria’s Daughter/Roommate
Victoria Newman is one of the most intelligent women in all of Genoa City, but not always in love. Does Victoria love Kyle? NO! Of course, she doesn’t, but Victoria hasn’t been laid in a while, like since the late Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck). She was close to reboot with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), but she stood by her DADDY, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), when he staged Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) fake kidnapping.
On the flip flop, Kyle needs to get laid also. He’s had a couple of beats with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), but they have just gotten way too close to the line without crossing it.
So, that leaves Victoria & Kyle with enough sexual tension that anyone can cut it, & they have needs.
If only Kyle’s ex-girlfriend weren’t Victoria’s daughter/roommate.
Victor Newman’s Pending Heart Attack
Seriously, if his darling daughter, Victoria Newman, hooks up with Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son, Kyle Abbott, Victor is going to need an ambulance pronto & Memorial Hospital better be open.
Victoria could not be more her father’s daughter.
The apple does NOT fall far from the tree. Yes, she’s been married to Billy Boy Abbott (Jason Thompson), but this would somehow be worse in the mind of Victor Newman.
