After 33 years, the original Jurassic Park remains the gold standard of dinosaur cinema, with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 masterpiece still widely regarded as one of the greatest science-fiction adventures ever made. Based on Michael Crichton’s bestselling novel, the film revolutionized Hollywood with its groundbreaking special effects and unforgettable characters, setting a standard that continues to influence modern prehistoric adventures, including modern hits like The End of Oak Street, which put a unique new spin on the genre.
Naturally, Jurassic Park has since evolved into a massive multimedia franchise, spawning numerous sequels, including the hugely successful Jurassic World trilogy and 2025’s Jurassic World Rebirth. Beyond the big screen, the franchise has also expanded through television, video games, comics, and a seemingly endless assortment of collectibles.
Now, more than three decades after audiences first ventured into Isla Nublar, Jurassic Park is preparing for another major expansion with an all-new “adventure” arriving on November 20, bringing its iconic prehistoric creatures back into the spotlight.
More than a year after its original debut in South Korea, the Jurassic Park Trading Card Game is finally making its way to American audiences. The officially licensed tabletop game will receive its English-language release on November 20, 2026, introducing a collection of starter decks, booster sets, and expansions that fans have been waiting to get their hands on for quite some time.
Developed by South Korea’s Young Cha Company in collaboration with Universal, Jurassic Park TCG is a competitive trading card game similar in concept to Pokémon TCG and Magic: The Gathering. In addition to being an authentic collector’s line featuring memorable dinosaurs, players can also construct their own decks and battle opponents using different dinos, each with their own specific strategic abilities inspired by the larger Jurassic Park franchise.
The game incorporates several categories of cards, including Dinosaurs, Characters, Events, and Areas. It features a relatively straightforward ruleset: players deploy dinosaurs onto the battlefield, use resources to activate different abilities, attempt to defeat their opponents through strategic play, etc. There’s also an extensive collection of artwork celebrating the franchise’s most iconic dinosaurs from most of its major releases.
The upcoming November 20 release will introduce four English-language products, giving newcomers several ways to get started while providing collectors with plenty of opportunities to expand their collections. The initial lineup, described as “A New Territory. A New Adventure” includes:
- Starter Set 1: When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth
- Starter Set 2: The Gate Is Open
- Base Set 1: Outland Predator
- Expansion Set 1: Raptor Strike
Both starter decks include 75 cards, alongside a playmat and rulebook, allowing newcomers to jump straight into the action. Meanwhile, Outland Predator features 101 different base cards alongside 24 parallel variants, while the Raptor Strike expansion introduces another 57 base cards and 11 parallels. Booster packs contain six cards each, with 24 packs included in a display box.
Fans of the franchise likely have been waiting for an official release date, as this isn’t an entirely new game, despite its upcoming American debut. Jurassic Park TCG originally launched in South Korea in July 2025, with its initial availability largely restricted to the Korean market. Nevertheless, the game attracted attention from international collectors, some of whom resorted to importing Korean-language cards while hoping for an official English edition.
The Jurassic Park TCG was developed in part by Ryo Shinomoto, who previously worked on trading card games for One Piece and Dragon Ball Super. Since its Korean release, the game has been expanding through multiple new card set releases and organized competitions. The English edition will be distributed in the United States through GTS Distribution, with various tabletop gaming retailers already listing the upcoming products.
For longtime Jurassic Park fans who have been following the Korean release, November 20 marks a significant milestone, finally bringing the stunning cards and the sought-after collectible artwork to English audiences after over a year of waiting.
