After more than a decade, Novak will return to Beijing. The Serbian is set to make his comeback at the China Open, an ATP 500 event he has won every time he has competed there.
Novak’s return to Chinese soil is scheduled for September 30, with the Serbian seeded No. 6. The organisers released the complete main-draw bracket on Monday.
Novak will begin his campaign against Nuno Borges of Portugal (PRT), the world No. 49. The pair have met just once before, in last year’s ATP tournament in Athens, where the Serbian prevailed in the quarter-finals.

Quarter-final: Alexander Zverev (GER, 1), Sebastian Baez (ARG)
Semi-final: Daniil Medvedev (RUS, 3), Jakub Mensik (CZE, 8)
The other half of the draw features Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN, 2), Alex de Minaur (AUS, 5), Flavio Cobolli (ITA, 4) and others, meaning one of them could potentially stand between Novak and the title.
Novak returns to Beijing with a perfect record. In his six previous appearances at the China Open, he played 29 matches and won all 29, lifting the trophy six times.
His last appearance at the tournament came in 2015, when he defeated Rafael Nadal in the final to claim his sixth Beijing title.
