Nicole Kidman may be looking at a very different kind of role for her next chapter: mom to another child.
The Oscar winner, 59, is reportedly considering adoption after finalising her divorce from Keith Urban, according to an insider quoted in the original report.
The idea would mark another step in Kidman’s effort to reshape her life while spending more time with family and rebuilding relationships with her older children, Bella and Connor.
“Nicole has stepped into her most empowered chapter ever – she has total agency over her life and that’s really sinking in,” the insider said.
The actress has never hidden her wish for a bigger family.
In 2021, she told Marie Claire Australia, “I wish I’d had more children, but I wasn’t given that choice…I would’ve loved 10 kids,” adding, “But that’s OK. I get to mother other children. I have six nieces and nephews and I’m godmother to 12. I love mothering. I love kids and what they say.”
Kidman has also spoken openly about fertility struggles, including an ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage.
Her relationship with Bella and Connor, whom she adopted with Tom Cruise, has been complicated over the years, but Kidman has continued to emphasize unconditional love.
“They are able to make their own choices,” she said in 2019.
“They have made choices to be Scientologists and, as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”
The idea of adopting again may also have been influenced by her friend Sandra Bullock, who adopted two children as a single mother.
“Seeing Sandra adopt as a single mother has given her a lot of confidence that it’s the right choice for her, too,” the insider claimed.
For now, there’s no confirmation Kidman has begun an adoption process.
But with the actress entering a new phase of life, the question is intriguing: Could another Kidman be on the way?
