For years, fans watched Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs as the titular 2 Broke Girls. The two have since been part of all sorts of other projects. Recently, news has come out that the two had a bit of a reunion and more is set to come.
Kat Dennings & Beth Behrs Became Known To Many As Max & Caroline On 2 Broke Girls
From 2011 to 2017, Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs starred alongside each other on the sitcom, 2 Broke Girls. On the show, the two played two friends from different walks of life who raise funds to start a cupcake business.
Dennings played Max Black, who grew up in a dysfunctional family, while Behrs’ character, Caroline, is the daughter of a billionaire. The two meet when Caroline loses everything thanks to her father’s Ponzi scheme and gets a job as a waitress, working alongside Max.
Since the show’s end, Dennings and Behrs have been part of various other projects. Behrs later played Gemma Johnson on CBS’ The Neighborhood. Dennings has become known for playing Darcy Lewis throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first playing the character in 2011. Last year, she also joined Shifting Gears, playing the main role of Riley, the daughter of Tim Allen’s character Matt Parker, as well as serving as a producer.
As previously reported, fans have already seen a few reunions take place on Shifting Gears. As previously reported, Nancy Travis, who starred alongside Allen on Last Man Standing, has appeared on the show as a character named Charlotte, a widow who befriends Matt.
Behrs’ Appearance On Shifting Gears Was Also Teased On The Show’s Social Media
Recently, it’s been announced that Behrs will also be coming to Shifting Gears, too. As noted by TV Insider, she will play Dr. Johnson, an ER doctor who treats Riley for a back injury, reuniting her with Dennings. The role will also see her reunite with executive producer Michelle Nader.
The news comes out shortly after the show already teased Behrs’ appearance with a smaller reunion on social media. In a video on Instagram, Dennings could be seen at a counter giving Behrs a drink, sharing her $7, only for her to say she was “broke.” Dennings quipped, “That makes two of us.” As a caption wrote, “What’s better than 1 broke girl?”
Since then, fans have been sharing their reactions to the big news. While Behrs and Dennings are expected to play different characters, some fans hope to see some 2 Broke Girls in-jokes on Shifting Gears. Even ABC’s own account proudly shared a simple, “TWO!!!!!,” with a few heart-eyed emojis, as a comment. Some comments included:
- “We need to find out what happens with max and her new husband!!”
- “2 broke girls is one of my favorite shows of all time, I don’t get why it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.”
- “That would be hilarious if they brought you 2 into the series.”
- “Called it! So excited!”
