EASTENDERS fans were left fuming after spotting a huge blunder during Friday night’s episode – and has insisted that someone ‘needs to be fired’.
One viewer took to Reddit to share a TikTok of a fan pointing out a mishap which involved Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).
In the scene, Gray – who is in prison for murdering wife Chantelle Atkins, Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi – was seen was lying in a hospital bed uncuffed while talking to Chelsea about their son.
On the TikTok it had the caption: “EastEnders made a little mistake.”
The Reddit user fumed on the discussion site: “Are the writers this Lazy???
“I didn’t even notice this until now these writers need to be fired. With immediate effect.”

Many rushed to the post to reply with their own thoughts about it, with one saying: “He’d also be under at least a continuous 2 person watch of prison staff or contractors. There is no version of that where Chelsea, who isn’t his next of kin or even on his visitors list is being allowed to waltz in there. I give soaps some creative liberties but this storyline has been dire.”
“Not handcuffing a serial killer to a bed, apparently a perfectly fine thing to do,” a second wrote.
A third commented: “Even so, there is no way on god’s earth that would even be considered, let alone able to go ahead. No cuffs, no warders, it’s simply ridiculous. He’s a cat A prisoner………”
But another pointed out: “Probably not the writers fault. Maybe the props department or director of the scene. The writers probably don’t deal with that level of detail.”
Another said: “Writers write the scripts, they don’t handle the props for which this scene calls for. And honestly while this is a glaring mistake, oversights can happen. There is a car in Lord of the rings for gawd sake.”
Earlier this week Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) stabbed evil serial killer Gray during a shock prison brawl.
While Gray is in prison for murder, Ian found himself in the same jail as Gray after he accidentally knocked off his son Jordan while over the limit.
Despite putting his son in a wheelchair, Gray decided to befriend Ian but for his own motives.
He plotted to use his grandmother Shelia to steal Jordan and take him abroad to Morocco to start a new life away from his mum Chelsea.
But it backfired when Kim and Denise chased Sheila down at the airport and stopped her from leaving.
On Thursday’s show, a furious Gray blames Ian for tipping Chelsea off when she came to visit him at the prison.
Ian denied it but Gray continued to point a letter opener at him.
Gray told him: “You’ve done enough talking with your stupid mouth.
“All I wanted to do was keep my boy safe from the poision she was dripping in her ear.”
A petrified Ian told him: “Look, I did everything you told me to do, OK?
“I didn’t know anything to tell anyone, did I?”
Ian then tried to press the emergency button, but Gray pushed him to the floor and threatened him.
Ian told him that his children were once kidnapped by their mother, which left him in “agony not knowing if he’d see them again.”
Gray said: “Last week when I saw Jordan, I could only see Chelsea. There was no part of me in him. Like she’d done it deliberately.
“I just wanted a chance with him.”
But Ian then angered Gray when he told him: “Listen, if your grandmother had managed to take him, you’d still be inside.
“I mean, you’d have ripped away the only family Jordan knew, for what?”
An enraged Gray said: “No. He’s my boy and his place is with me.”
Seeing Gray becoming noticeably irritated, Ian tried to grab the blade but it resulted in a tussle between him and Gray.
As they fought over the blade, Ian groaned: “No, no.”
But it was actually Gray who had been stabbed and he slowly fell to the floor, before saying to Ian: “Tell Jordan I love him.”
Gray was rushed to hospital, but Ian feared his sentence would be increased for the attack, despite him saying he did it in self defence.
The officers then told Ian that they would have to wait to see if Gray pulled through before making a decision.
