David Díez is a Spanish illustrator and draftsman from Salamanca.
Díez specializes in detailed pen-and-ink and watercolor illustrations of robots, cyborgs, and creatures that blend cyberpunk, steampunk, and what he playfully calls “licantropunk” aesthetics — a personal mashup of werewolf mythology and punk machinery. His work often depicts intricate mechanical dragons, alien cyberpunk figures, and other hybrid creature-machine designs rendered with dense linework and traditional media rather than purely digital tools. He also produces instructional content on his YouTube channel focused on teaching others how to draw robots and related steampunk/cyberpunk subjects.
Díez has published a dedicated art book featuring 35 original full-color illustrations in traditional ink and watercolor, all centered on cyberpunk and steampunk-style robots — a compilation of his signature visual universe.
