The Town Hobo Title Is Up for Grabs, Apparently

Genoa City already has an official Town Hobo. Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) has held that crown for a while now — unemployed, directionless, showing up in scenes without a discernible purpose. It’s a title he’s earned & defended.

Enter Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) — quietly making his case for Town Hobo #2 & honestly giving Daniel a run for his money.

What Does Holden Actually Do?

Seriously. What does this man do?

Holden spent some time as Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) part-time lackey. That was the job. Part. Time. Lackey. Genoa City’s most underemployed man was assisting Genoa City’s most recently returned man & somehow that passed as a storyline.

Now Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) has asked Cane to run Chancellor Industries — her company, her call — & he’s accepted. Holden is just… there. Standing around Genoa City looking concerned about Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) & apparently not much else.

The Winters Blood That Isn’t Working For Him

Here’s the part that really gets me. Holden just found out that Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) is his biological father. That means he’s got a direct bloodline to one of Genoa City’s most storied families.

Devon Winters (Bryton James) & Lily co-own & run Winters Inc. together. Cane is now running Chancellor Industries. Holden is family — actual blood family — & he’s still out here with no job title, no office & no clue.

The man is related to people running two of the most powerful operations in Genoa City & hasn’t figured out how to leverage that yet.

Will Chancellor Industries Save Him?

Now that Cane is running things at Chancellor, will he throw Holden a bone? Give him an actual job with an actual title that isn’t “part-time lackey”?

It would make sense. The Winters bloodline connection is right there. The question is whether Y&R is actually going to DO something with Holden or just keep him wandering around Genoa City mooning over Claire Newman in between out-of-town hotel visits.

The Verdict

Daniel Romalotti can rest easy — he’s still the reigning Town Hobo of Genoa City. For now.

Holden Novak is coming for that title, though & at this rate he might just take it. The man has connections, bloodline & potential sitting right in front of him & still can’t figure out what he’s doing in Genoa City.

Figure it out, Holden. The clock is ticking & Daniel Romalotti is not giving up that crown without a fight. 😄
