After more than a decade of covering Prime Day, our best advice remains the same: Buy the things you were already planning to buy. The event has a way of convincing otherwise rational people that they suddenly need a countertop ice maker or a tactical flashlight. The smartest move is to focus on products you’ve already researched, need to replace, or have been waiting to see go on sale.
Historically, Amazon’s own devices see some of the steepest discounts. That includes Kindles, Echo speakers, Ring doorbells, Fire TV streaming devices, and Eero mesh Wi-Fi systems. Prime Day is also one of the best times of the year to buy tech, with regular discounts on gear from Apple, Samsung, LG, Sonos, and other GQ-approved brands.
As for menswear, we typically see strong deals on the wardrobe staples most guys actually wear: denim, sneakers, polos, T-shirts, underwear, and outerwear. Brands like Levi’s, Calvin Klein, Dickies, and Lacoste tend to offload lots of inventory. You’ll also find worthwhile discounts in grooming, particularly on electric razors, beard trimmers, and other grooming tools from brands like Philips Norelco and Braun.
