Nobody called Chelsea Lawson. Nobody texted. Adam Newman wasn’t even taking her calls. Yet, she came anyway.
Chelsea came anyway & she came dressed like she’d been planning this trip for months.
It’s not my first day watching Chelsea Lawson insert herself into a situation & this one takes the cake.
The Last Minute Vegas Trip Nobody Asked For
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) decided on a dime to go to Las Vegas. Last minute. Unplanned. Uninvited.
In Genoa City, Chelsea dresses like Chelsea. Understated, put together, appropriate. Nothing that would raise an eyebrow at Fenmore’s or any of the three places to eat/drink in Genoa City.
So someone needs to explain what happened between Genoa City & Las Vegas because the woman who showed up in Nevada is dressed like an entirely different person.
Green satin blouse with lace trim. A floral olive & rust top with leather pants. These are not “I threw something in a bag at the last minute” outfits. These are “I have been planning my Vegas wardrobe for weeks” outfits.
Chelsea supposedly left on a dime. So where exactly did these clothes come from?
Not Fenmore’s. Definitely Not Fenmore’s…
Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) runs one of the most respected fashion businesses in Genoa City. Fenmore’s has style, taste & a reputation to uphold.
These outfits did not come from Fenmore’s.
Chelsea arrived in Las Vegas dressed like she’s auditioning for a life that isn’t hers. The satin. The lace. The leather. It’s giving “I looked up what Riza wears & ordered next day delivery.”
Riza, for the record, pulls it off effortlessly. That’s Riza’s whole thing. She doesn’t try — it just works.
Chelsea is trying very hard… & Y&R fans can tell the difference.
Where is Connor?
Here’s the part that Y&R fans cannot ignore.
Chelsea Lawson has a son. His name is Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). He has been through more than any kid in Genoa City & he needs his mother present & consistent.
Since Chelsea landed in Las Vegas, Connor has not been mentioned once.
Not a phone call. Not a text. Not a “I’m checking in on my son before I go chase a situation that has nothing to do with me” moment.
Chelsea packed her new mystery wardrobe, left Genoa City & apparently left Connor in the care of whoever is available… Perhaps with little Harrison (Redding Munsell), who apparently has either been left with make-believe Mrs. Martinez or imaginary Christian Newman in Genoa City.
The Bottom Line
Chelsea Lawson went to Las Vegas uninvited, in outfits nobody can explain, without mentioning her son once.
Nobody asked her to come. The clothes came from nowhere. Connor is somewhere.
