While the majority of celebs get the quick pass at the airport while travelling internationally, Machine Gun Kelly’s is not among the lucky ones as his past is still lingering over his head.
βAs the rapper has a history of drug offenses at the international departure unit in the airport, he is unable get priority security screenings.
βThe Emo Girl singer revealed on the April 22 episode of Take Flight, “βTraveling was difficult because I have a level one narcotics possession or whatever. I got caught with cocaine on the way back from New Zealand last time I was out here.β
MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, even faced trouble getting an Australian visa and waited for eight years.
βThe rapper admitted that now he waits like a normal person in a waiting line at airports.
ββI still don’t get [TSA] PreCheck or Global Entry or any of that fast stuff in the airport,β MGK shared. “I’m still stuck in lines like normal.”
βMGK has been vocal about his sobriety journey, and since his airport ordeal, he has stayed away from drinking alcohol.
βHe shared on the Dumb Blonde podcast in 2024, βIβm completely sober from everything. I donβt drink anymore. I havenβt drunk since last August.β
βMGK explained at the time. βI didnβt tell anybody outside of those closest to me, but I went to rehab right when we got off the European tour last year. That was my first time I ever went to rehab, and man they just gave me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from and methods to quell it. I ended up falling into an awareness of what my condition is, and have made peace with it, and itβs a constant tightrope walk.β
