Good day good people. I woke up today in a bit of a bad mood, so — You know how I preach about “love more, bitch less”? Well, fuck that. I need to bitch.
I wanna start with a big ol’ “fuck you” to all the keyboard warriors that talk so much shit about any and everything. I am not talking about folks using their actual profiles and screen names to share their opinions; I am talking about you assholes that have fake accounts so you can just rip people to shreds.
I see it everywhere.
I was on a fan page for the show The Pitt — great show by the way — and some messy bitch whose profile pic was a woman’s hand holding a cigarette (very classy) was posting about one actress plays an “R word” really well, and that another actor was too ugly to be on television.
Just … Why?
Why does she feel the need to be so shitty? Not every awful thought in your head needs to be expressed.
I know I sound like a huge hypocrite considering the shit that comes out of my mouth at a show. But I do it for entertainment purposes, with no actual hate or malice intended.
Not this bitch. Every comment she made just oozed with venom.
I didn’t comment on or even acknowledge her posts, because I think that how she gets off — by getting folks riled up enough to argue with her or at least engage with her.
Maybe she is lonely and just needs someone to talk to? Whatever the reason, fuck her.
Then last night I was told about a guy on Reddit that was talking about the next season of Drag Race. He was saying that on of my girls, Blue Valentine, is gonna be on the next season of the show and that she goes home first.
He then called her a horrible and boring entertainer because “she just stands there when she performs.” When I tell you I got heated over a situation that I wasn’t even a part of … I wanted to go find that little bitch’s post and read him for filth!
First off, if Blue did get on that show, how would you know? And calling her a horrible entertainer shows you have never been to one of her shows. She literally bucks to a ballad.
Blue ain’t ever been boring, you little twat! Don’t speak on stuff you don’t know.
It’s totally okay if you don’t like an entertainer. But to make up lies just so you have something to say is bananas.
The Drag Race fandom is one of the most toxic group of fans I have ever seen. We all have our favorites, and there are always a few girls each season that I do not care for. But it’s just a show! You bitches that make hating on that show your entire personality need to grow the fuck up.
About these keyboard warriors: There’s also a strange performative element to it. Many of these exchanges aren’t really about the people involved; they’re about being seen by others.
The not-so-clever comeback, the hateful remark, the exaggerated outrage — it’s all part of putting on a show for an invisible audience. Unfortunately, their shitty remarks tend to drown out positive voices, making online spaces feel more hostile and less worth engaging in.
But you never know: If they catch me at the right time when I wanna argue back, I will go in — hard and with no lube.
Even saying that just now, I know it’s bullshit. It’s just not worth the time or energy to engage with those wannabe relevant bullies. Thank God I have this column so I can vent to y’all instead of adding fuel to the meanness and stupefaction of our dumpster fire of a world.
Plus, if I commented on every annoying, hateful or shady post, I wouldn’t have time to do anything else — things like watch the shows they are bitching about or think of new ways to mentally dismember those jerks through WiFi with my non-existent Carrie powers.
