Meet the 5 Finalists for The Chita Rivera Awards’ “Broadway’s Next Triple Threat”

The Chita Rivera Awards and the New York City Dance Alliance Foundation have announced the finalists for the first-ever “Broadway’s Next Triple Threat” talent search! Launched earlier this year, the initiative honors the legacy of Broadway icon Chita Rivera.

Hundreds of young performing artists ages 18–25 applied to be part of the inaugural cohort, and fifteen semifinalists moved forward after submitting their video applications on March 13. A panel of Broadway performers and industry leaders evaluated each submission for excellency in dancing, singing, and acting.

The five finalists will be in New York City from May 16–18 for an intense week of mentorship and training from Broadway professionals, including Andy Blankenbuehler, Christopher Gattelli, Lorin Latarro, Robbie Fairchild, and Robyn Hurder. Each finalist receives a minimum training grant, discounted classes, and continued professional development opportunities. But there will be only one winner of the Chita Rivera Training Grant, which provides $10,000 in financial assistance for living and training expenses, a year of free dance classes at Steps on Broadway, and ongoing mentorship. The winner will be announced at the 2026 Chita Rivera Awards ceremony at the NYU Skirball Center on May 18.
