JACK ABBOTT WAS NOT THAT DRUGGED

Victor Newman kidnapped Jack Abbott. Put him on a yacht, stocked it with alcohol & drugs, left him there with Patty Williams. & somehow Y&R fans are supposed to feel sorry for Jack.

The Yacht Was Not a Hallucination

Let’s be very clear about what happened here. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) orchestrated an elaborate kidnapping & made sure the conditions were exactly right for Jack Abbott (Peter Bregman) to make a terrible decision. Patty Williams was not an accident. The substances were not an accident. None of this was an accident. Victor Newman does not do accidents.

So yes, Jack was in a compromised situation. No one is arguing that Victor is innocent here. Victor Newman has never been innocent a day in his life.

When (Almost) All the Abbotts Walk In

Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) & Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) walked in on Jack & Patty together. & the second that door opened, Jack Abbott was suddenly, completely, 100% coherent. Mortified. Aware of exactly what was happening & exactly who was standing in front of him.

Y&R fans, that is not how being drugged works.

If Jack Abbott was truly out of his mind — truly not in control of his faculties — he would not have snapped back to reality the moment his wife walked in. That is not a chemical reaction. That is a man who knew exactly what he was doing & is now hoping the word “drugged” does the heavy lifting for him.

Team Diane. Full Stop.

Online, fans are telling Diane to calm down. To give Jack grace. To remember he was a victim too.

Here is a question for those fans: if you walked in on your partner in bed with someone else & they said “I was drugged,” would you calmly pack them a snack & tell them it was fine? Because Diane Jenkins packed her bags & checked into the Grand Phoenix & that is the only reasonable response to what she witnessed.

Diane has spent years rebuilding her reputation in Genoa City. She fought for her marriage. She fought for her place in the Abbott family. & she walked into that room & saw everything she built being dismantled in real time.

Her leaving is not an overreaction. Her leaving is self-respect.

Victor Still Wins. Obviously.

None of this means Victor Newman is off the hook. He engineered this entire disaster & he is somewhere right now very pleased with himself. But Jack handed Victor the win the moment he stopped fighting.
