What started as a shared calling to meet a growing need in their community has evolved into Best Behavior Solutions, LLC—a mission-driven venture focused on making schools, businesses, and churches more inclusive for individuals with disabilities. Jordan Black and Chelsi Anderson are combining evidence-based strategies with heart-led advocacy, helping organizations move from intention to action while empowering families to feel supported, seen, and truly integrated. For them, inclusion isn’t just a service—it’s a belief that with the right support, everyone can thrive.
Jordan & Chelsi, congratulations on the launch of Best Behavior Solutions, LLC! What inspired you both to start a business focused on inclusive, evidence-based behavior strategies?
We were excited to create BBS because we saw a need and heard about the need from many parents and individuals we encounter in the community. Many families struggle to attend church if they have a person with a disability in their family and the same story can be said of many business and community organizations. Jordan and I really wanted to use our knowledge to make a difference in our community!
Your work centers on helping schools, businesses, and churches create more inclusive environments. Why is inclusion—especially for people with disabilities—such an important focus right now?
Inclusion is important because each and every individual is valuable and capable. We truly believe that with the right supports in place, people of all abilities can thrive! We want families and people with disabilities to have choices and be able to truly integrate into their communities and feel supported and loved.
You offer professional development and parent training, including IEP advocacy. What are some of the biggest challenges families and organizations face when trying to support individuals with disabilities?
The biggest challenge for most organizations seems to be a lack of information or knowing where to start. That’s where we come in! We can provide the information and help the organization launch into becoming an inclusive environment! If there is a heart to include ALL people, we can handle the logistics and equip with resources. I think for families one of the biggest challenges is feeling isolated and knowing that leaving the house can be overwhelming and tough. We want to walk alongside families and make integration into the community easier and remove hurdles. We want to advocate for all people to be able to learn, grow, and thrive in their community.
Best Behavior Solutions works across a wide range of spaces, from preschools to dental and pediatric offices. How do behavior strategies differ depending on the environment?
Regardless of the environment, some behavior strategies remain consistent such as positive reinforcement and redirection, which can be used wherever you are. The nuances really start to apply when you consider how to make a specific space more inclusive and how to remove obstacles, distractions, and overstimulating aspects of a setting. Additionally, most of what we do across settings is inform the people who are working there on how to best love and care for ALL individuals, including those with disabilities.
As you begin to grow and share your work with the community, what impact do you hope Best Behavior Solutions will have in the long term?
Our biggest hope for Best Behavior Solutions is that people with disabilities and their families will feel included in their community and can truly integrate in whatever spaces they choose. We want ALL individuals to know they are valuable and capable of so much and we feel privileged to walk alongside them!
