American Idol has launched the careers of several stars since it debuted in 2002, Carrie Underwood among them. She won the show’s fourth season, partly due to her stunning rendition of Heart’s 1987 hit song, “Alone.” It’s a song that’s still in play on her tour setlists.
She returned to the show that made her famous in 2024 as a judge. After weeks of speculation about her future with the reality competition, ABC confirmed that she’ll be back for Season 24, along with judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Footage leaked on social media of the three judges on campus at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, for auditions for the new season. Season 24 of American Idol premieres on NBC on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Carrie Underwood Ditches The Blonde, Goes Dark
Carrie Underwood always looks glamorous on stage. But she lives a down-home lifestyle at her farm in Nashville. Earlier this summer, the singer tried a new look by darkening her blonde hair. Fans loved it, and it seems she did, too. She recently shared photos on Instagram that showed off her stunning long, dark locks.
“Pardon my sweatpants, but I had to show off these tromboncino squash,” she captioned the post. Her now-brown hair showed a slight curl in it as it cascaded past her shoulders. While she seemed ashamed that she was wearing sweatpants, fans assured her that it was fine and it made her more human.
Fans Can’t Get Over The Size Of Her Squash
While Carrie Underwood looked relaxed and happy with her new look, most fans couldn’t see anything beyond the gigantic squash she held up for the camera. The squash can grow up to four feet, which surprised a lot of her followers.
