A zombie apocalypse breaks out in Brooklyn on the night of a giant warehouse party, where a group of drag queens, club kids and frenemies must put aside their drama and use their unique skills to fight against the brain-thirsty, scrolling undead.
Gays versus zombies in the new flick, Queen of the Dead, directed by Tina Romero and presented by Shudder. The film is set for release on Oct. 24 just in time for Halloween.
The film stars Katy O’Brian, Jaquel Spivey, Tomas Matos, Nina West, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Jack Haven, Cheyenne Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Margaret Cho, Riki Lindhome, Eve Lindley, Becca Blackwell, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Julie J.
Romero co-wrote the film with Erin Judge.
The filmmaker follows in her father’s footsteps by continuing the Romero/zombie legacy of films. Her father George Romero is acclaimed for his Night of the Living Dead film with numerous sequels. Day of the Dead (and its remake) and Diary of the Dead are some of the standout ones. Now Tina Romero brings drag queens into the mix with her film.
