The nostalgia for long-time The Young and the Restless viewers is real when it comes to Christine and Danny. Pulling out all the stops, Danny surprised Christine with a walk down memory lane. It was filled with decades of memories highlighting their love for one another, including a book they used on Nina (Tricia Cast) to something from their apartment together. The Young and the Restless even incorporated flashback scenes as the couple walked through the surprises Danny had set up at Society. At the end of the trip down memory lane, there was a velvet box. Danny proposed to Christine on July 10, and she happily accepted. It’s time to plan the wedding for the newly reunited couple, but the guest list will be debatable.
Danny and Christine’s Relationship on ‘The Young and the Restless’ Is Complicated
When Christine met Danny, she was just a teenager. He was a bit older than her, and when she fell into the groupie category for him, it wasn’t love at first sight. Instead, they became friends first, which in turn was the beginning of their love story. However, it wasn’t always Christine and Danny against the world. Michael Damian joined the show in 1981, and from there, had various relationships before, during, and after Christine joined the CBS soap in 1983. He was initially married to Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), but their marriage was annulled when she lost the baby she was carrying.
During Danny’s first marriage to Christine in 1990, he cheated on her with new-in-town Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). That ended his marriage to the beautiful blonde, with Phyllis becoming pregnant, sealing the deal, and ending Danny and Christine’s marriage. Meanwhile, Christine found love with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). Their relationship was on and off for several years until The Young and the Restless phased Paul out of Genoa City. There wasn’t an official exit or a goodbye; it was simply explained that he and Christine had split, and she returned to town without him.
There was plenty of back and forth for the couple, but the next step was within reach. They have always loved one another, and with a wedding to plan and house-hunting on their short list of things to do, Danny and Christine will likely be seen on-screen more than they have over the last several months.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Crossed Over With ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’

They stopped by Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) mansion to celebrate with the family, and Danny performed for Donna (Jennifer Gareis), who is a superfan. Because The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful are sister soaps, there are often crossovers with various characters. This could play into their wedding, mainly because the couple appeared to be close with the Forresters.
With Danny wanting to settle down and take a break from touring, it will be interesting to see how he fits into Genoa City alongside his lady love. It has been months since the couple has been on-screen regularly, and we suspect that once the news about their engagement spreads, there will be a pickup in the drama. Phyllis has been busy dealing with Cane (Billy Flynn), but when she returns home, the news about Christine accepting Danny’s proposal will likely shock her.
