Josh Zielke built this 9,783-square-foot modern home in Hillcrest Estates in 2017 for a couple relocating from Germany.
“They came with specific ideas,” Zielke said. “They wanted clean lines, an open floor plan, and a lot of light.”
If you know anything about Germans, you’ll find that they want to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. So, Zielke and architect Lisa Teters designed this home with a grand living area opening to a year-round, heated, and cooled outdoor loggia featuring remote-controlled screens. We spent a lot of time wrapping the ductwork and designing the air conditioning system to run quietly so you won’t hear or feel it operating. We put the unit on springs in the attic so all the vibrations are absorbed.”
