It’s Not the End of the World is a climate thriller, a takedown of the uber-wealthy, and a queer family saga “that isn’t afraid to punch back.”
It’s 2044 and life is pretty bleak (still!) for many Americans, but not for Mason Daunt. Safe in his Los Angeles mansion, he can remain unaware of the wildfires engulfing California, the proliferation of right-wing militias and the authoritarianism destroying American society. All he’s thinking about is that he and his partner Yunho Kim are throwing a 100-person, $100,000 baby shower to celebrate their newborn-on-the-way.
When a potentially apocalyptic event hits Los Angeles on the day of their celebration, though, the wealthy gay couple refuses to cancel their party. With some last-minute errands, Mason confronts the surrounding chaos which threatens the lives of his loved ones.
Jonathan Parks-Ramage, author of the acclaimed Yes, Daddy, returns with his second novel, It’s Not the End of the World. His new title will release during Pride Month on June 3.
The Los Angeles based writer, playwright (The Big Gay Jamboree), screenwriter and journalist premiered onto the book scene with his 2021 debut Yes, Daddy. The title made top books of the year lists by Entertainment Weekly, NBC News, The Advocate, Lambda Literary, Bustle, Goodreads and was optioned for television by Amazon Studios.
