If you donβt have a sunglasses or eye glasses chain youβre missing out on this practical & chic statement piece!
Glasses chains, sunglasses chains or eye glasses chains are the easiest way to elevate your outfits and are such a cute statement piece. Iβm not talking boring croakies, rope or rubber styles but the prettiest pearl, crystal and gold eyewear chains that instantly elevate your outfit. It doesnβt matter whether itβs a Chanel sunglasses chain or more affordable brand and another bonus is that youβll never lose them again or stretch them out wearing them on your head! I fell in love with this eye wear trend when I first saw my Mum wearing it but only recently bought my own. Why I waited so long I have no idea when theyβre the chicest, most practical thing ever. When I first started researching this article it was βVan Cleef sunglasses chainβ that kept coming up but they donβt even make them! So if youβre looking for that you can go down the TikTok rabbit hole like I did but theyβre all βinspired byβ not the real deal. If you want a designer style, go for a Chanel sunglasses chain. Donβt worry, Iβm covering pretty glasses chains for all budgets here.

Are sunglasses chains back in fashion?
Sunglasses chains and eyewear chains are very much in style and have been making a comeback over the last couple of years. Influencers, fashion editors and celebrities like Bella Hadid have all been seen wearing this practical statement piece which means no more lost or stretched out glasses from wearing them like a headband. A bit like a much chicer mitten holder! Anyone else remember those? I donβt know about you but Iβve had so many pairs of sunglasses fall off my head and get scratched and lost more than I care to count. So there are a God send!
If you havenβt used them before, theyβre simple to use. You just place the flexible, little loops on each end of the chain over the arms of your sunglasses which then hold them in place around your neck whenever youβre not wearing them.
How to wear glasses chains
If you think theyβre just for keeping your glasses and sunglasses close think again. You know Iβm all about getting the best cost per wear. They can also be used as a:
- Body Chain
- Long Necklace
- Double wrapped choker
- Double/triple wrapped bracelet
- Airpod / Mask Chain

Whereβs the best place to buy glasses chains
There are so many options when it comes to where to buy them from designer to theΒ high streetΒ and Iβve linked options for all budgets below. Some of my designer favorites include Frame Chains and Chanel sunglasses chains. For luxe for less ASOS, Oliver Bonas, Etsy and Amazon are always great for picking up a bargain.
Designer sunglasses and glasses chains
If your budgets more Chanel than Etsy, check out these beauties. I tend to gravitate towards pearl and gold eyewear chains just because they suit my coloring better than silver. While Van Cleef sunglasses chain might be trending in Google and TikTok search results, to save you time looking, it does not exist. Only dupes do.

The oneβs I have are Mademoiselle Jules freshwater pearl and gold eyewear chain. If youβre looking for a meaningful piece, definitely consider a gold and pearl combo. As gold symbolizes success, inspiration, generosity and pearls symbolize wisdom, clarity, purity & serenity.
British label Frame Chain has some of the prettiest and most glam glasses chains. Unfortunately you canβt buy just a Chanel sunglasses chain, they come with the sunglasses which are stunning but obviously pushes the price up.
Pretty luxe for less eye glasses chains
If you donβt want to splurge on this accessory trend these are the prettiest affordable styles I came across. I say trend but because theyβre so practical I can see this accessory sticking around for a while. Itβs a easy way to add a bit of personality and a feminine touch to any of your outfits without needing to splash out unless you want to.
