“I Don’t Believe In A Clean Sport Anymore”

“I Don’t Believe In A Clean Sport Anymore”With the final decision out on Jannik Sinner who was suspended three months, players are already taking to social media to make their voices known.

Three-time champion Stan Wawrinka was straight-to-the-point in a tweet this morning: I don’t believe in a clean sport anymore …

Wawrinka is likely referring to the inconsistences on how doping cases have been adjudicated of late. Some players get multi-year bans, some a few months and in Sinner’s case before today it was zero months.

Further, players can now “settle” with WADA on their suspension length. In Sinner’s case, his three months falls conveniently between the Australian Open and Rome, so for him it was a best case scenario to a degree.

British player Liam Broady offered this: “Didn’t realise you could reach a settlement regarding a doping ban… Interesting. Back in time for French Open I guess? 👀”
