Real Betis have opened the door to signing Manchester United flop Antony on a permanent transfer.
The Brazilian winger joined Betis on loan until the end of the season in January.
Antony is considered one of the biggest transfer flops in history, having struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford since his £82m move from Ajax in 2022.
That deal made Antony one of the most expensive signings in history but he could barely get a game across his final two seasons at United, scoring four goals in 52 appearances.
The 24-year-old has, however, enjoyed a brighter start to his Betis career, earning the Player of the Match award on his debut and then scoring in his second appearance for the Spanish side.
There is no clause in the loan deal for Real Betis to sign Antony on permanently next summer but the La Liga outfit look set to approach Manchester United with a possible offer.
Asked whether Betis would look to keep Antony at the club long-term, club chief Ramon Alarcon told Cadena Ser’s Radio Sevilla: ‘I think so.

‘The other day the CEO of United called me. We sent them all the moves and details of the player throughout the week so that they can see that we are looking after their asset.
‘There is very good chemistry with Manchester [United] and with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?’
