We’re excited to share an inspiring story about Quintraylon “42” Johnson, a 16-year-old junior at Kimball High School, coached by Deonte Smith and Andy Harmony. Training at Future Champs of Texas under Rick Henry, Quintraylon has embraced wrestling despite only two years in the sport, overcoming challenges with determination.
This past weekend, he won the DISD 5AA Regional Wrestling Championship in the 165-pound division and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament! His success has ignited a passion for both wrestling and academics, as he now aims for a strong GPA to compete at the D1 college level.
Up next, Quintraylon will compete at the State Championships this weekend in Houston. He and fellow club member Darius Grignion have also been invited to an exclusive Developmental Training Camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs (March 24-29), where they’ll train with top coaches and possibly alongside Olympic and World Champions.
We wish these talented athletes the best of luck in their journey ahead!
