Sydney Malakeh is all set to join Days of Our Lives next week. She will portray a familiar character who’s linked to EJ DiMera and Sami Brady. Alongside Malakeh’s casting, it was also reported that Heated Rivalry star Franco LoPresti has been added to the roster and will play Ava Vitali’s cousin, Dante.

Sydney Malakeh will play Sydney DiMera, daughter of EJ and Sami.
Over the years, Sydney’s character has been portrayed by numerous actresses, initially by several twins. The last one to play the role was Evelyn Stephenson in the 2021 spinoff movie Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas. When Sydney was born, she was secretly snatched away from her birth mother, Sami. The whole trap was laid by Nicole, who was pregnant earlier but miscarried the baby.
She still pretended to be pregnant in front of her husband, EJ, and when the time came, she took Sami’s daughter. She sent Sami home with someone else’s child. Nicole named Sami’s baby Sydney, whereas Sami’s child was named Grace. Unfortunately, Sami lost Grace to meningitis in 2009. However, after some time, Rafe Hernandez exposes Nicole’s past cruel intentions, revealing that Grace wasn’t Sami’s real daughter but Sydney.
It is to be noted that Sami Brady won’t be present when Sydney makes her debut. However, Sydney may have interactions with her other family members, including EJ and Johnny.
Malakeh is best known for playing Danica in Shrinking, Danny in Grey’s Anatomy, and Jess in The Sex Life of College Girls. Apart from Days of Our Lives, she is also set to appear in the TV series Pieces. She will mark her on-air presence on DOOL on Wednesday, September 9. Meanwhile, LeProsti will appear on the show on September 14, 2026. Apart from being a member of the Vitali family, he is romantically involved with Sami Brady, Sydney’s mother.
