Queer Austin-based singer Caleb De Casper releases new single, “Waiting 4 Heaven”

Last week, Austin-based singer, songwriter, recording artist and LGBTQ+ activist Caleb De Casper released his new single, “Waiting 4 Heaven.” This marks the third single off his forthcoming album, Delirium. The album is slated for a 2027 summer release.

“I wrote this song after my family back home in Appalachia had experienced a freak hurricane that reached the mountains,” De Casper said in a press release. “It feels like in today’s world, chaos reigns over order and I am searching for a way out. The premise of this song sounds hopeless but I see it as hopeful because even though I’m surrounded by chaos, I still am waiting on a Heaven that exists.”

A classically trained pianist and vocalist, he has evolved from his initial horror cabaret, glam-rock vibes into a mustache, homemade-mullet, cowboy boots and an unapologetically masculine silhouette – all filtered through his signature vampiric allure.

Delirium will document a queer coming-of-age story told through the metaphor of a vampire. The record captures an underground cult artist moving toward the mainstream without softening his edges. Influenced by pop greats such as Pete Burns, Depeche Mode, Lady Gaga, Peaches, Prince and INXS. The album was co-created by De Casper with Italian/Mauritian producer Ribongia (Haiku Hands) and executive produced by Adrienne Lake.
