Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor must despise his mobile’s daily ping heralding the latest shocking revelations from the Epstein Files – but the latest, if true, is the ultimate betrayal of the late Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen felt her son’s contact with the US paedophile “unwise” but gave him her “full support” even after the photos of him with Epstein after his conviction, and the other with his arm around tragic Virginia Giuffre in 2011.

But now the Epstein Files have revealed a year earlier – in September 2010 while it’s believed Her Majesty was at Balmoral in Scotland – Andrew invited Epstein and a group of women to Buckingham Palace. Just to remind you, this is two years AFTER Epstein pleaded guilty in a plea deal to procuring a 14-year-old for prostitution, to avoid further child sex charges.

A self-confessed paedophile in the Palace – not since the ‘Princes in the Tower’ has there been a more shameless act of royal treachery.

What on God’s earth was he doing? Was he insane?

Firstly let me make it clear there is no confirmation Epstein went to Buckingham Palace that night with a bevvy of women in tow – but there is evidence of Andrew and Epstein planning it.

It is likely that Andrew had just left the Queen at Balmoral in the hours before he arranged a private dinner at the Palace with the sex offender and four women, one of whom was a Romanian model.

With what has been suggested of links between Epstein and Putin’s KGB spies, it seems Andrew was wilfully pouring a gallon of nectar over his own head and ‘honey-trapping’ himself.

Epstein had previously got in touch with Andrew in order to fix a time to meet for dinner.

According to the Epstein Files, Andrew replied: “Great! Where do you want to go — private at BP (Buckingham Palace) or out in a private room or in a restaurant?”

The next day, on 27th September 2010, Andrew wrote to Epstein saying: “I am just departing Scotland. Should be down by 1800. I’ll ring you when I get down if you can give me a number to ring.

“Alternatively we could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy.”

He signs off the email with the letter “A”.

Epstein replied “bp pleease (cor)” and later added: “I want private time with you, however, i am here with (redacted names) should i bring them all. so as to add some life.”

Andrew answered: “Yes. Plenty of space here for chat! Bring them.”

Epstein later wrote back saying “add one more (redacted name) Romanian very cute.”

There are no further details about their plans, about the women who were invited or how the evening unfolded but the next day Epstein wrote to Andrew telling him “great fun, more later”.

Andrew has always strongly denied any wrongdoing and accusations against him in relation to Jeffrey Epstein.

But forget about making an ‘error of judgement’, this was wilfully arranging dinner for a convicted child sex pervert at the heart of our monarchy, Buckingham Palace.

It is hard to think of a greater betrayal of the late Queen and her trust in her favourite son than that. He should hang his head in shame.
