Almost three hours for what? This is what Young & the Restless fans are asking after Y&R’s ONLY Emmy win.
Nearly three hours of Daytime Emmys on a Friday night that could only be streamed, & Y&R just won one. Not one loyal Young & the Restless fan had on their bingo card for Y&R to win best writing or best series, but what about all of the nominations? What just happened? Diane Jenkins back from the dead beat Dead Cameron, and that is what happened on the 2025 Daytime Emmys.
Let’s unpack & rant, Young & the Restless fans…
Susan Walters Thanks Josh Griffith, Back from the Dead
Almost three hours of nomination after nomination having anything to do with Young & the Restless, just one nomination turned into an Emmy, & that Emmy was earned by Susan Walters, who portrays Diane Abbott Jenkins in Genoa City. While she did thank her lovely & also Emmy-nominated husband, Linden Ashby, she also thanked Y&R head writer, Josh Griffith, for bringing Diane Jenkins back from the dead.

Whoa! With Young & the Restless losing in every other category, including Outstanding Lead Actress, where four fabulous Y&R actresses were nominated. Susan Walters may be the ONLY one thanking Josh Griffith, including Young and the Restless fans.

Y&R’s Dead Cameron Gets Robbed & Still Happy
Susan Walters’ husband, Linden Ashby, who has portrayed Cameron Kirsten here & there on Young & the Restless, was nominated for Outstanding Guest Performance along with Valarie Pettiford, who has been portraying Amy Lewis. Despite having two Y&R nominees in this category, neither Linden nor Valarie won.
Seriously, Dead Cameron was robbed! He was a hoot! Seriously, he was the best thing since Trevor St. John left Young and the Restless portraying Tucker McCall.
Even so, after not winning in the opening category, he could not have been more proud of his wife, Susan Waters…

Y&R’s Only Win, Dead Cameron Not Only Robbed
Seriously, what was up with Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott), & Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson) all being nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress & none of them won?
Blame Head Writer Josh Griffith? Thoughts, Young & the Restless fans??
