Prince Harry takes swipe at Sentebale chair after investigation

Prince Harry is speaking out about the findings in relation to the scandal that led to him shockingly quitting Sentebale, the African charity founded in his mother Princess Diana’s honor.

In March, Dr. Sophie Chandauka, chairwoman of Sentebale,Β claimed to the London Times that β€œmisogynoir” was to blame for why the Prince Harry and the board of trustees resigned. Misogynoir, by definition, is hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice against Black women.

But in a press release on Tuesday, the Charity Commission for England and Wales β€” an independent government department that registers and regulates charities in England and Wales β€” stated that they found no evidence of β€œwidespread or systemic bullying or harassment, including misogyny or misogynoir at the charity.”

The department also stated that they found no evidence of β€œover-reach by either the chair or the Duke of Sussex as patron” though they were critical of the charity’s β€œlack of clarity in delegations to the chair which allowed for misunderstandings to occur.”

Prince Harry noted that the damage to the charity has already been done in a passionate statement from his spokesperson obtained by Page Six.

β€œUnsurprisingly, the Commission makes no findings of wrongdoing in relation to Sentebale’s Co-Founder and former Patron, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex,” the statement reads. β€œThey also found no evidence of widespread bullying, harassment or misogyny and misogynoir at the charity, as falsely claimed by the current Chair.”

β€œDespite all that, their report falls troublingly short in many regards, primarily the fact that the consequences of the current Chair’s actions will not be borne by her β€” but by the children who rely on Sentebale’s support,” the statement continued.

The spokesperson noted that Sentebale, which was established to serve some of the most vulnerable children in Lesotho and Botswana, had been a β€œdeeply personal and transformative mission” for Prince Harry.

β€œAs custodians of this once brilliant charity,Β Prince Seeiso, Prince HarryΒ and the former Board of Trustees helped grow Sentebale from the seed of an idea to β€” like its namesake β€” a flowering force for good,” the statement reads.

β€œWith the original mission of Sentebale firmly in mind β€” and in honour of the legacy he and Prince Seeiso began β€” The Duke of Sussex will now focus on finding new ways to continue supporting the children of Lesotho and Botswana,” the statement concludes.

As for Chandauka, she said the report confirmed the governance concerns she raised privately earlier this year and doubled down on her claims that Prince Harry led a media attack on her in a statement obtained by People.

β€œThe unexpected adverse media campaign that was launched by those who resigned on 24 March 2025 has caused incalculable damage and offers a glimpse of the unacceptable behaviors displayed in private,” she said in part. β€œWe are emerging not just grateful to have survived, but stronger: more focused, better governed, boldly ambitious and with our dignity intact.”

Chandauka was previously accused by an insider of β€œplaying the race card” when it comes to her accusations against the 40-year-old royal.

β€œThis is her plan. As soon as anyone turns against her, she brings the race card in and she comes for you,” the sourceΒ told the TelegraphΒ in April.

The source claimed Chandauka accused the board of trustees of bullying after she was confronted over losing a major sponsor for the charity’s annual polo cup. When the board allegedly pushed Chandauka to resign, she allegedly retaliated with legal action that led to multiple resignations.

β€œShe’s a very poisonous woman and it’s very sad it’s come to this,” the insider said.

In March, Chanduka accused Prince Harry of launching a β€œdamaging” attack that led to alleged β€œharassment and bullying” against her.

β€œThe only reason I’m here … is because at some point on Tuesday, Prince Harry authorized the release of a damaging piece of news to the outside world without informing me or my country directors, or my executive director,” she toldΒ Sky News’ Trevor PhillipsΒ on β€œSunday Morning.”

β€œAnd can you imagine what that attack has done for me, on me and the 540 individuals in the Sentebale organizations and their famil[ies]?” she asked. β€œThat is an example of harassment and bullying at scale.”

Chandauka claimed the Duke of Sussex unleashed β€œthe Sussex machine” β€” which she claimed was β€œthe PR machine that supports Prince Harry’s efforts” β€” on her β€œand the 540 employees at Sentebale.”
