Prince Harry is speaking out about the findings in relation to the scandal that led to him shockingly quitting Sentebale, the African charity founded in his mother Princess Dianaβs honor.
In March, Dr. Sophie Chandauka, chairwoman of Sentebale,Β claimed to the London Times that βmisogynoirβ was to blame for why the Prince Harry and the board of trustees resigned. Misogynoir, by definition, is hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice against Black women.
But in a press release on Tuesday, the Charity Commission for England and Wales β an independent government department that registers and regulates charities in England and Wales β stated that they found no evidence of βwidespread or systemic bullying or harassment, including misogyny or misogynoir at the charity.β
The department also stated that they found no evidence of βover-reach by either the chair or the Duke of Sussex as patronβ though they were critical of the charityβs βlack of clarity in delegations to the chair which allowed for misunderstandings to occur.β
Prince Harry noted that the damage to the charity has already been done in a passionate statement from his spokesperson obtained by Page Six.
βUnsurprisingly, the Commission makes no findings of wrongdoing in relation to Sentebaleβs Co-Founder and former Patron, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex,β the statement reads. βThey also found no evidence of widespread bullying, harassment or misogyny and misogynoir at the charity, as falsely claimed by the current Chair.β
βDespite all that, their report falls troublingly short in many regards, primarily the fact that the consequences of the current Chairβs actions will not be borne by her β but by the children who rely on Sentebaleβs support,β the statement continued.
The spokesperson noted that Sentebale, which was established to serve some of the most vulnerable children in Lesotho and Botswana, had been a βdeeply personal and transformative missionβ for Prince Harry.
βAs custodians of this once brilliant charity,Β Prince Seeiso, Prince HarryΒ and the former Board of Trustees helped grow Sentebale from the seed of an idea to β like its namesake β a flowering force for good,β the statement reads.
βWith the original mission of Sentebale firmly in mind β and in honour of the legacy he and Prince Seeiso began β The Duke of Sussex will now focus on finding new ways to continue supporting the children of Lesotho and Botswana,β the statement concludes.
As for Chandauka, she said the report confirmed the governance concerns she raised privately earlier this year and doubled down on her claims that Prince Harry led a media attack on her in a statement obtained by People.
βThe unexpected adverse media campaign that was launched by those who resigned on 24 March 2025 has caused incalculable damage and offers a glimpse of the unacceptable behaviors displayed in private,β she said in part. βWe are emerging not just grateful to have survived, but stronger: more focused, better governed, boldly ambitious and with our dignity intact.β
Chandauka was previously accused by an insider of βplaying the race cardβ when it comes to her accusations against the 40-year-old royal.
βThis is her plan. As soon as anyone turns against her, she brings the race card in and she comes for you,β the sourceΒ told the TelegraphΒ in April.
The source claimed Chandauka accused the board of trustees of bullying after she was confronted over losing a major sponsor for the charityβs annual polo cup. When the board allegedly pushed Chandauka to resign, she allegedly retaliated with legal action that led to multiple resignations.
βSheβs a very poisonous woman and itβs very sad itβs come to this,β the insider said.
In March, Chanduka accused Prince Harry of launching a βdamagingβ attack that led to alleged βharassment and bullyingβΒ against her.
βThe only reason Iβm here β¦ is because at some point on Tuesday, Prince Harry authorized the release of a damaging piece of news to the outside world without informing me or my country directors, or my executive director,β she toldΒ Sky Newsβ Trevor PhillipsΒ on βSunday Morning.β
βAnd can you imagine what that attack has done for me, on me and the 540 individuals in the Sentebale organizations and their famil[ies]?β she asked. βThat is an example of harassment and bullying at scale.β
Chandauka claimed the Duke of Sussex unleashed βthe Sussex machineβ β which she claimed was βthe PR machine that supports Prince Harryβs effortsβ β on her βand the 540 employees at Sentebale.β
