Five new families are joining the Gogglebox line-up alongside the likes of Jenny and Lee, The Siddiquis, The Malones, Giles and Mary, Ellie and Izzi, David and Shirley and the Plummers
Channel 4’s Gogglebox is set to welcome a fresh batch of armchair critics from across the country including sisters from Edinburgh, a Surrey family, pals from Glasgow, a married couple from the Cotswolds, and a mother and daughter-in-law duo from Yorkshire.
The hit show, now in its thirteenth year, will introduce these new faces in its upcoming 26th series, kicking off on Friday, September 5 at 9pm.
Studio Lambert, the production team behind Gogglebox, The Inheritance, The Traitors and more, have handpicked these five diverse groups.
Joining the critique crew are Glaswegian mates Jake (27) and Calum (31), the Gordon family; Andre (49), Sarah (47) and their daughter Chee (25) from Surrey, wedded pair Andrew (62) and Alfie (32) from The Cotswolds, mother and daughter-in-law, Sara (87) and Lara (58) from Yorkshire, and sisters Rosie (68) and Susie (70) from Edinburgh.

They’ll be joining the ranks of regular Goggleboxers Jenny and Lee, The Siddiquis, The Malones, Giles and Mary, Ellie and Izzi, David and Shirley, the Plummers, Amira and Amani, the Worthingtons, Pete and Sophie, Abbie and Georgia, Sue and Steve, Simon and Jane, Ronnie and Annie, Danielle and Daniella, Teresa and Anita and Michael, Sally, Jake and Harry, reports Edinburgh Live.
Mike Cotton, Creative Director for Studio Lambert, expressed his excitement about the new additions, saying: ”It’s a delight to welcome some new households to the Gogglebox family. Along with our much loved returning cast, we can’t wait to join them in their living rooms and hear their candid thoughts on this weeks most talked about TV.”
This follows cast member Baasit Siddiqui receiving overwhelming fan support after sharing a touching family announcement.
He was flooded with messages of encouragement after posting a significant update about his cherished family, disclosing that his mum had recently marked her birthday. Using his Instagram account, the television personality uploaded multiple photographs from his summer break.
The post featured images of him with Mellisa and their youngsters exploring woodland areas. Baasit also included an endearing photograph of his seldom-seen mother Nasreen extinguishing candles on her birthday cake.
In his accompanying message, he described each image and penned: “Little photo dump as I’ve not had a chance to post lately…still the summer holidays for us and pretty sure our kids are the last to go back.
1) Training the kids ready to take over the @c4gogglebox sofa P.S. It’s back on this Friday – us not the kids. 2) Me and Theodore ready for battle. 3) Theodore found a hole…. was tempted to leave him but @mel_siddiqui said I wasn’t allowed.

It comes after cast member Bassit Siddiqui was supported by fans after issuing a heartfelt family update.
He was inundated with support after he shared a major update on his beloved family, revealing his mum recently celebrated a birthday. Taking to his Instagram, the TV star uploaded several photos from his summer holidays
Included in the post were snaps of his Mellisa and their children out and about in the woods. Baasit also shared a sweet snap of his rarely-seen mum Nasreen blowing out some candles on a birthday cake.
In the caption, he explained each picture and wrote: “Autumn definitely feels like it’s peaking through the last few days •* but we are holding onto the last few days of summer before it’s back to school next week….are yours little ones back? Hope you have all had a great summer!”
