CAPREIT Selects Ehrlich to Lead Firm

David Ehrlich will take over the reins of Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAPREIT). The appointment of Ehrlich, who has sat on CAPREIT’s board of trustees since 2013, follows the death of company founder and longtime CEO Tom Schwartz in August 2017.

In Ehrlich, Toronto-based CAPREIT is turning to the CEO and an executive director of Dublin-based Irish Residential Properties REIT Plc, a publicly-traded real estate investment trust that is indirectly managed by CAPREIT. Ehrlich has been running the company since 2014. Ehrlich, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, was previously a senior partner at Stikeman Elliott LLP.

TCN Worldwide Names Glass VP of East Region

GlassTCN Worldwide has selected Ronald Glass to serve as a regional vice president. He will serve as an advisor to member firms in the East region and as a liaison with TCN Worldwide headquarters.

Glass is currently a senior vice president and managing broker within Long & Foster’s commercial division in Vienna, VA. He will continue in his role there in addition to his duties as regional vice president of TCN. Glass is a former member of the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation and is the former chairman on the Economic Development Committee for the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

Lee & Associates NYC Hires Salmon as Executive Managing Director

SalmonMitchell Salmon has joined Lee & Associates as an executive managing director with the retail and office leasing teams. Based in the firm’s New York City office, Salmon will also participate in asset management and acquisitions.

Salmon brings more than 30 years of experience in retail real estate, having most recently served as a managing director with Garrison Investment Group, where he was in charge of developing strategic plans for the company’s national retail presence, growing it to more than 9.2 million square feet across 17 states. Salmon oversaw $44 million in ground-up construction stemming from the redevelopment of 343,000 square feet of retail space nationally. Before that, Salmon spent 15 years in leasing and development at Mall Properties, Inc. (now Olshan Properties).

Still Joins Retail Insite

StillJohn Still has joined Retail Insite as a retail partner with its advisory services platform in the firm’s Solana Beach, CA office.

Still specializes in landlord representation, asset repositioning, development consulting and in individual and portfolio asset sales. He was previously at Flocke & Avoyer Commercial Real Estate in San Diego for 26 years, and has spent the past four years as a private advisor for several institutional owners nationwide.

Townes Joins Cushman & Wakefield

TownesDavid Townes has joined Cushman & Wakefield as a senior director for retail brokerage in the firm’s East Rutherford, NJ office. In his new role, Townes will work alongside Andrew Judd, managing principal and Katie Mahon, managing director of retail services and brokerage operations to assist the company’s retail clients with their commercial space needs across the Tri-State region.

Most recently Townes served as a leasing specialist with Ripco Real Estate, where he provided retailers and owners with transaction services including site selection, location analysis and due diligence, letter of intent and lease negotiations.

Young Joins Industry City as SVP of Leasing

YoungDavid Young has joined Industry City as senior vice president of leasing in the firm’s Brooklyn, NY office. In his new role, Young will help the team in continuing to focus on strategic marketing and leasing of Industry City’s 6 million square feet of creative office and warehouse space.

Young was previously a vice president and associate director of leasing at L&L Holdings Company LLC, where he managed all aspects of leasing for the company’s 6.5 million-square-foot portfolio of Manhattan office properties. Before that he was with CBRE, representing landlords and tenants with their commercial leasing and occupancy strategies.

Borny Joins Dermody Properties

BornyRobert Borny has joined Dermody Properties as senior vice president of capital deployment, east region. Based in the firm’s Chatham, NJ office, Borny will be responsible for identifying and executing industrial acquisition opportunities in the eastern United States.

Borny was previously a director at Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF) LP, where he was responsible for sourcing and marketing industrial investment property sales. He became a designated Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in 2011.

Quinn Joins Kidder Mathews

QuinnPeter Quinn joined the Kidder Mathews of San Diego as a senior vice president. In his new role, Quinn will identify and focus on investment properties.

Quinn was previously at McKinney Advisory Group. As a veteran broker with 35 years of commercial real estate experience, he served notable clients that include Bank of America, Eastman Kodak, Eli Lilly, and Wells Fargo.

Cushman & Wakefield Engages Malitz as Retail Director

MalitzCushman & Wakefield has hired Adam Malitz as its director of retail brokerage for the Long Island submarkets. Based in the firm’s Brooklyn, NY office, Malitz will work alongside Betty Castro, managing principal and market leader for Brooklyn and Queens and Katie Mahon, managing director of retail services and brokerage operations for the Tri-State region.

Prior to coming aboard at Cushman & Wakefield, Malitz worked at Lee & Associates as a director of retail leasing across the five boroughs. Before that he was a senior account manager at Next Street, a merchant bank and consulting firm.

Rogers Joins Franklin Street

RogersTim Rogers has joined Franklin Street Real Estate Services as a new associate at the firm. In his new role, Rogers will be working in retail landlord representation across the central Florida markets with a focus on leasing services, transactional management, analysis of the market and business management for clients.

Rogers most recently served as an associate director with Front Street, where he worked with landlord representation and shopping center tenants. Before joining a commercial real estate firm with Street in the name, he did a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA.
